[ the brief ]
Anika and Sjoerd are partners in life and art. Together they founded Grace & Ward to share their passion for hand-tufted rugs, treating each piece less like a decoration and more like a story that needs to be told.
Their branding was already in place. And after trying to build a website themselves out of a template, without much success, they came to me to take over and design something custom and unique to host their art pieces.
They needed a storefront to shwocase and sell their collections — built in Webflow for full creative control, with a secure, reliable Shopify checkout running underneath it.
[ the approach ]
I brought their existing brand guidelines to life across the full site — the homepage, shop, gallery, and custom commission pages — carrying the same attention to texture, color, and craftsmanship from their rugs into the way the site looks and reads.
On the technical side, the storefront is built natively in Webflow, keeping full design flexibility, while checkout runs through Shopify. I connected the two using Smootify, so products display and style exactly as designed in Webflow, while purchases flow securely through Shopify's cart and checkout — giving Grace & Ward a fully custom storefront without giving up a dependable way to sell.
Alongside the site, I also designed a trade program guide — a collateral on-brand tool for growing referral relationships with architects and designers.
[ the outcome ]
Grace & Ward now has an online home that displays and sells their pieces like an art gallery, rather than a typical shop, with each piece given room to hold its own presence. The site runs on Webflow and Shopify together, giving Anika and Sjoerd full design control up front and reliable checkout behind it.
