[ the brief ]
Juan Martín Montes, a sports journalist with over 20 years in media, was launching Key Data: a studio built around the idea that in a media landscape saturated with opinion and noise, data tells sharper, more credible stories. The site needed to do more than describe that positioning — it had to prove it within seconds, attracting media platforms, sports clubs and brands as clients while showcasing both sides of his offering: interactive web experiences and motion-driven storytelling.
[ the approach ]
We built a single-page, editorial-style site that works as both portfolio and pitch — clean and bold typography, minimal palette, and a premium feel closer to a sports publication than a typical agency page. A hero showreel, edited to move at the same pace and precision as Key Data’s own work, opens the site and answers the first question any visitor has: what does this studio actually make? From there, scroll-triggered animations and embedded video keep the experience self-contained, with nothing pulling visitors away mid-story. Two small details carry that same spirit to the edges of the site: a trailing hover animation on the footer logo, and a custom 404 page built with physics-based motion — a dead end turned into proof of that "getting lost" can still be on brand.
[ the outcome ]
Key Data launched with a site that reads as confidently as the stories it’s built to sell — a credible, editorial presence for a studio stepping into a crowded market, built on a CMS-ready Webflow foundation Juan Martín can grow himself as the studio adds new interactive work.
