[ the brief ]
After over a decade leading creative work at Loewe, the Spanish luxury perfume brand, Sergio Lobato set out to build his own brand consulting agency. He needed a digital presence that reflected his expertise in luxury branding while giving him a place to showcase his projects and insights
He needed a visual identity that communicated elegance, confidence, and expertise, a website that felt premium yet approachable, and a CMS-powered site he could manage and update himself — with motion and interaction that enhanced the storytelling without overpowering the content.
As a brand designer himself, he trusted me to build his online presence. A challenge I did not take for granted!
[ the approach ]
We leaned into a bold editorial design with an intentionally minimal color palette, leaning on white space and elegant contrast to let Sergio's work speak for itself. We moved away from color, letting the photography take center stage — paired with a bold typographic system and refined serif accents reflecting his background in luxury design and his attention to detail.
The layouts were built content-first, giving his projects and insights room to breathe. We built out dynamic collections in Webflow for both Projects and Blog posts, so Sergio could manage and update the site himself without needing a developer for every change. Working alongside a developer, we layered in subtle transitions using GSAP and BarbaJS — small interactions that gave the site a polished, high-end feel without pulling focus from the content.
[ the outcome ]
Lobatos now has a brand identity and website that match the caliber of Sergio's own work — premium, content-first, and built to scale as he adds new projects and articles. The site has since been featured on Lapa Ninja and No-Code Supply, founded by Corey Moen.
